The Kingfisher Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDDBEFEGGHIJIKK

It was the Rainbow gave thee birthA
And left thee all her lovely huesB
And as her mother s name was TearsC
So runs it in my blood to chooseB
For haunts the lonely pools and keepD
In company with trees that weepD
Go you and with such glorious huesB
Live with proud peacocks in green parksE
On lawns as smooth as shining glassF
Let every feather show its marksE
Get thee on boughs and clap thy wingsG
Before the windows of proud kingsG
Nay lovely Bird thou art not vainH
Thou hast no proud ambitious mindI
I also love a quiet placeJ
That s green away from all mankindI
A lonely pool and let a treeK
Sigh with her bosom over meK
