The Dark Hour Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEFG HIJK LAMA NOPO QRSR TSUS

And now when merry winds do blowA
And rain makes trees look freshB
An overpowering staleness holdsC
This mortal fleshB
-
Though well I love to feel the rainD
And be by winds well blownE
The mystery of mortal lifeF
Doth press me downG
-
And In this mood come now what willH
Shine Rainbow Cuckoo callI
There is no thing in Heaven or EarthJ
Can lift my soulK
-
I know not where this state comes fromL
No cause for grief I knowA
The Earth around is fresh and greenM
Flowers near me growA
-
I sit between two fair rose treesN
Red roses on my rightO
And on my left side roses areP
A lovely whiteO
-
The little birds are full of joyQ
Lambs bleating all the dayR
The colt runs after the old mareS
And children playR
-
And still there comes this dark dark hourT
Which is not borne of CareS
Into my heart it creeps beforeU
I am awareS
