The Captive Lion Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEFE GHIH

Thou that in fury with thy knotted tailA
Hast made this iron floor thy beaten drumB
That now in silence walkst thy little spaceC
Like a sea captain careless what may comeB
-
What power has brought thy majesty to thisD
Who gave those eyes their dull and sleepy lookE
Who took their lightning out and from thy throatF
The thunder when the whole wide forest shookE
-
It was that man who went again aloneG
Into thy forest dark Lord he was braveH
That man a fly has killed whose bones are leftI
Unburied till an earthquake digs his graveH
