Joy And Pleasure Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEFE GHIH JKLK MNOP

Now joy is born of parents poorA
And pleasure of our richer kindB
Though pleasure's free she cannot singC
As sweet a song as joy confinedB
-
Pleasure's a Moth that sleeps by dayD
And dances by false glare at nightE
But Joy's a Butterfly that lovesF
To spread its wings in Nature's lightE
-
Joy's like a Bee that gently sucksG
Away on blossoms its sweet hourH
But pleasure's like a greedy WaspI
That plums and cherries would devourH
-
Joy's like a Lark that lives aloneJ
Whose ties are very strong though fewK
But Pleasure like a Cuckoo roamsL
Makes much acquaintance no friends trueK
-
Joy from her heart doth sing at homeM
With little care if others hearN
But pleasure then is cold and dumbO
And sings and laughs with strangers nearP
