Cowslips And Larks Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABCCDDEEFGHHIIBJI hear it said yon land is poor | A |
In spite of those rich cowslips there | B |
And all the singing larks it shoots | C |
To heaven from the cowslips' roots | C |
But I with eyes that beauty find | D |
And music ever in my mind | D |
Feed my thoughts well upon that grass | E |
Which starves the horse the ox and ass | E |
So here I stand two miles to come | F |
To Shapwick and my ten days home | G |
Taking my summer's joy although | H |
The distant clouds are dark and low | H |
And comes a storm that fierce and strong | I |
Has brought the Mendip hills along | I |
Those hills that when the light is there | B |
Are many a sunny mile from here | J |
