Pierrette In Memory Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFEE GHGH

Pierrette has gone but it was notA
Exactly that she diedB
So much as vanished and forgotA
To tell where she would hideB
-
To keep a sudden rendezvousC
It came into her mindD
That she was late What could she doC
But leave distress behindD
-
Afraid of being in disgraceE
And hurrying to dressF
She heard there was another placeE
In need of lovelinessE
-
She went so softly and so soonG
She hardly made a stirH
But going took the stars and moonG
And sun away with herH
