Unconquerable Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDEF GHIH JBJB

Put of the night that covers meA
Black as the Pit from pole to poleB
I thank whatever gods may beA
For my unconquerable soulB
-
In the full clutch of circumstancesC
I have not winced nor cried aloudD
Under the bludgeonings of chanceE
My head is bloody but unbowedF
-
Beyond this place of wrath and tearsG
Looms but the Horror of the shadeH
And yet the menace of the yearsI
Finds and shall find me unafraidH
-
It matters not how straight the gateJ
How charged with punishments the scrollB
I am the master of my fateJ
I am the captain of my soulB
