London Types - Ii. Life-guardsman Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCBCBDBDBEE

Joy of the Milliner Envy of the LineA
Star of the Parks jack booted sworded helmedB
He sits between his holsters solid of spineA
Nor as it seems though WESTMINSTER were whelmedB
With the great globe in earthquake and eclipseC
Would he and his charger cease from mounting guardB
This Private in the Blues nor would his lipsC
Move though his gorge with throttled oaths were charredB
He wears his inches weightily as he wearsD
His old world armours and with his port and prideB
His sturdy graces and enormous airsD
He towers in speech his Colonel countrifiedB
A triumph waxing statelier year by yearE
Of British blood and bone and beef and beerE
