In Hospital - Xvi - House-surgeon Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBACDECDE

Exceeding tall but built so well his heightA
Half disappears in flow of chest and limbB
Moustache and whisker trooper like in trimB
Frank faced frank eyed frank hearted always brightA
And always punctual morning noon and nightA
Bland as a Jesuit sober as a hymnB
Humorous and yet without a touch of whimB
Gentle and amiable yet full of fightA
His piety though fresh and true in strainC
Has not yet whitewashed up his common moodD
To the dead blank of his particular SchismE
Sweet unaggressive tolerant most humaneC
Wild artists like his kindly elderhoodD
And cultivate his mild PhilistinismE
