After Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABBACDECFGHIFELike as a flamelet blanketed in smoke | A |
So through the anaesthetic shows my life | B |
So flashes and so fades my thought at strife | B |
With the strong stupor that I heave and choke | A |
And sicken at it is so foully sweet | C |
Faces look strange from space and disappear | D |
Far voices sudden loud offend my ear | E |
And hush as sudden Then my senses fleet | C |
All were a blank save for this dull new pain | F |
That grinds my leg and foot and brokenly | G |
Time and the place glimpse on to me again | H |
And unsurprised out of uncertainty | I |
I wake relapsing somewhat faint and fain | F |
To an immense complacent dreamery | E |
