Saint John Baptist Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABACABDEFDGF

The last and greatest Herald of Heaven's KingA
Girt with rough skins hies to the deserts wildB
Among that savage brood the woods forth bringA
Which he than man more harmless found and mildB
His food was locusts and what young doth springA
With honey that from virgin hives distill'dC
Parch'd body hollow eyes some uncouth thingA
Made him appear long since from earth exiledB
There burst he forth 'All ye whose hopes relyD
On God with me amidst these deserts mournE
Repent repent and from old errors turn 'F
Who listen'd to his voice obey'd his cryD
Only the echoes which he made relentG
Rung from their marble caves 'Repent Repent 'F
