Walking With God. - Genesis V.24. Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCD EFEG HIHI JKLK MNMN ABCD

Oh for a closer walk with GodA
A calm and heavenly frameB
A light to shine upon the roadC
That leads me to the LambD
-
-
Where is the blessedness I knewE
When first I saw the LordF
Where is the soul refreshing viewE
Of Jesus and his wordG
-
-
What peaceful hours I once enjoy'dH
How sweet their memory stillI
But they have left an aching voidH
The world can never fillI
-
-
Return O holy Dove returnJ
Sweet messenger of restK
I hate the sins that made thee mournL
And drove thee from my breastK
-
-
The dearest idol I have knownM
Whate'er that idol beN
Help me to tear it from thy throneM
And worship only theeN
-
-
So shall my walk be close with GodA
Calm and serene my frameB
So purer light shall mark the roadC
That leads me to the LambD
