The Modern Patriot Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAC DEDE FGFG HHHH DBDB IBIB

Rebellion is my theme all dayA
I only wish 'twould comeB
As who knows but perhaps it mayA
A little nearer homeC
-
Yon roaring boys who rave and fightD
On the other side of the AtlanticE
I always held them in the rightD
But most so when most franticE
-
When lawless mobs insult the courtF
That man shall be my toastG
If breaking windows be the sportF
Who bravely breaks the mostG
-
But oh for him my fancy cullsH
The choicest flowers she bearsH
Who constitutionally pullsH
Your house about your earsH
-
Such civil broils are my delightD
Though some folks can't endure 'emB
Who may the mob are mad outrightD
And that a rope must cure 'emB
-
A rope I wish we patriots hadI
Such strings for all who need 'emB
What hang a man for going madI
Then farewell British freedomB
