The Happy Change Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEDE FGHG IJKJ LMCM NFOF

How bless'd Thy creature is O GodA
When with a single eyeB
He views the lustre of Thy WordC
The dayspring from on highB
-
Through all the storms that veil the skiesD
And frown on earthly thingsE
The Sun of Righteousness he eyesD
With healing on His wingsE
-
Struck by that light the human heartF
A barren soil no moreG
Sends the sweet smell of grace abroadH
Where serpents lurk'd beforeG
-
The soul a dreary province onceI
Of Satan's dark domainJ
Feels a new empire form'd withinK
And owns a heavenly reignJ
-
The glorious orb whose golden beamsL
The fruitful year controlM
Since first obedient to Thy WOrdC
He started from the goalM
-
Has cheer'd the nations with the joysN
His orient rays impartF
But Jesus 'tis Thy light aloneO
Can shine upon the heartF
