Sardis Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: A BCDEFGFH IJIJKLKL MNMNOPQP

Revelations iiiA
-
Write to Sardis saith the LordB
And write what He declaresC
He whose Spirit and whose wordD
Upholds the seven starsE
All thy works and ways I searchF
Find thy zeal and love decay'dG
Thou art call'd a living churchF
But thou art cold and deadH
-
Watch remember seek and striveI
Exert thy former painsJ
Let thy timely care reviveI
And strengthen what remainsJ
Cleanse thine heart thy works amendK
Former times to mind recallL
Lest my sudden stroke descendK
And smite thee once for allL
-
Yet I number now in theeM
A few that are uprightN
These my Father's face shall seeM
And walk with me in whiteN
When in judgment I appearO
They for mine shall be confess'dP
Let my faithful servants hearQ
And woe be to the restP
