Olney Hymn 15: Praise For The Fountain Opened Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD AEFG HIHI JKLK MCNC OPOP

There is a fountain fill'd with bloodA
Drawn from Emmanuel's veinsB
And sinners plunged beneath that floodA
Lose all their guilty stainsB
-
The dying thief rejoiced to seeC
That fountain in his dayD
And there have I as vile as heC
Wash'd all my sins awayD
-
Dear dying Lamb Thy precious bloodA
Shall never lose its powerE
Till all the ransom'd church of GodF
Be saved to sin no moreG
-
E'er since by faith I saw the streamH
Thy flowing wounds supplyI
Redeeming love has been my themeH
And shall be till I dieI
-
Then in a nobler sweeter songJ
I'll sing Thy power to saveK
When this poor lisping stammering tongueL
Lies silent in the graveK
-
Lord I believe Thou hast preparedM
Unworthy though I beC
For me a blood bought free rewardN
A golden harp for meC
-
'Tis strung and tuned for endless yearsO
And form'd by power divineP
To sound in God the Father's earsO
No other name but ThineP
