Looking Upwards In A Storm Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABB CCDE FFGG HHIJ FFKK LLMM

God of my life to Thee I callA
Afflicted at Thy feet I fallA
When the great water floods prevailB
Leave not my trembling heart to failB
-
Friend of the friendless and the faintC
Where should I lodge my deep complaintC
Where but with Thee whose open doorD
Invites the helpless and the poorE
-
Did ever mourner plead with TheeF
And Thou refuse the mourner's pleaF
Does not the word still fix'd remainG
That none shall seek Thy face in vainG
-
That were a grief I could not bearH
Didst Thou not hear and answer prayerH
But a prayer hearing answering GodI
Supports me under every loadJ
-
Fair is the lot that's cast for meF
I have an Advocate with TheeF
They whom the world caresses mostK
Have no such privilege to boastK
-
Poor though I am despised forgotL
Yet God my God forgets me notL
And he is safe and must succeedM
For whom the Lord vouchsafes to pleadM
