Lines, Composed For A Memorial Of Ashley Cowper, Esq. Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABB CCDE FFEE

Farewell endued with all that could engageA
All hearts to love thee both in youth and ageA
In prime of life for sprightliness enrolledB
Among the gay yet virtuous as the oldB
-
In life's last stage O blessings rarely foundC
Pleasant as youth with all its blossoms crownedC
Through every period of this changeful stateD
Unchanged thyself wise good affectionateE
-
Marble may flatter and lest this should seemF
O'ercharged with praises on so dear a themeF
Although thy worth be more than half supprestE
Love shal be satisfied and veil the restE
