Light Shining Out Of Darkness Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEDE FGFG HIJI KLMN OPLP

God moves in a mysterious wayA
His wonders to performB
He plants his footsteps in the seaC
And rides upon the stormB
-
Deep in unfathomable minesD
Of never failing skillE
He treasures up his bright designsD
And works his sov'reign willE
-
Ye fearful saints fresh courage takeF
The clouds ye so much dreadG
Are big with mercy and shall breakF
In blessings on your headG
-
Judge not the Lord by feeble senseH
But trust him for his graceI
Behind a frowning providenceJ
He hides a smiling faceI
-
His purposes will ripen fastK
Unfolding ev'ry hourL
The bud may have a bitter tasteM
But sweet will be the flow'rN
-
Blind unbelief is sure to errO
And scan his work in vainP
God is his own interpreterL
And he will make it plainP
