Joy And Peace In Believing Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDEDF GHGHIJIJ DHDHKLKL MNMNDODO

Sometimes a light surprisesA
The Christian while he singsB
It is the Lord who risesC
With healing on His wingsB
When comforts are decliningD
He grants the soul againE
A season of clear shiningD
To cheer it after rainF
-
In holy contemplationG
We sweetly then pursueH
The theme of God's salvationG
And find it ever newH
Set free from present sorrowI
We cheerfully can sayJ
E'en let the unknown to morrowI
Bring with it what it mayJ
-
It can bring with it nothingD
But He will bear us throughH
Who gives the lilies clothingD
Will clothe His people tooH
Beneath the spreading heavensK
No creature but is fedL
And He who feeds the ravensK
Will give His children breadL
-
Though vine nor fig tree neitherM
Their wonted fruit shall bearN
Though all the field should witherM
Nor flocks nor herds be thereN
Yet God the same abidingD
His praise shall tune my voiceO
For while in Him confidingD
I cannot but rejoiceO
