Inscription For The Tomb Of Mr. Hamilton Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABCDDEEFC

Pause here and think a monitory rhymeA
Demands one moment of thy fleeting timeA
Consult life's silent clock thy bounding veinB
Seems it to say 'Health here has long to reign 'C
Hast thou the vigour of thy youth an eyeD
That beams delight a heart untaught to sighD
Yet fear Youth ofttimes healthful and at easeE
Anticipates a day it never seesE
And many a tomb like Hamilton's aloudF
Exclaims 'Prepare thee for an early shroud 'C

William Cowper
