By Philemon Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABACCDEFFAA

Oft we embrace our ills by discontentA
And give them bulk beyond what nature meantA
A parent brother friend deceased to cryB
'He's dead indeed but he was born to die'A
Such temperate grief is suited to the sizeC
And burden of the loss is just and wiseC
But to exclaim 'Ah wherefore was I bornD
Thus to be left forever thus forlorn 'E
Who thus laments his loss invites distressF
And magnifies a woe that might be lessF
Through dull despondence to his lot resign'dA
And leaving reason's remedy behindA
