By Heraclides Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCDD

In Cnidus born the consort I becameA
Of Euphron Aretimias was my nameA
His bed I shared nor proved a barren brideB
But bore two children at a birth and diedB
One child I leave to solace and upholdC
Euphron hereafter when infirm and oldC
And one for his remembrance' sake I bearD
To Pluto's realm till he shall join me thereD
