A Living And A Dead Faith. Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCD EFEF GHGH IJIJ KLKL MNMN

The Lord receives his highest praiseA
From humble minds and hearts sincereB
While all the loud professor saysC
Offends the righteous Judge's earD
-
-
To walk as children of the dayE
To mark the precepts' holy lightF
To wage the warfare watch and prayE
Show who are pleasing in his sightF
-
-
Not words alone it cost the LordG
To purchase pardon for his ownH
Nor will a soul by grace restoredG
Return the Saviour words aloneH
-
-
With golden bells the priestly vestI
And rich pomegranates border'd roundJ
The need of holiness express'dI
And call'd for fruit as well as soundJ
-
-
Easy indeed it were to reachK
A mansion in the courts aboveL
If swelling words and fluent speechK
Might serve instead of faith and loveL
-
-
But none shall gain the blissful placeM
Or God's unclouded glory seeN
Who talks of free and sovereign graceM
Unless that grace has made him freeN
