O THOU who sit'st a smiling Bride | B |
By Valour's arm'd and awful Side | B |
Gentlest of Sky born Forms and best ador'd | C |
Who oft with Songs divine to hear | D |
Win'st from his fatal Grasp the Spear | E |
And hid'st in Wreaths of Flow'rs his bloodless Sword | C |
Thou who amidst the deathful Field | F |
By Godlike Chiefs alone beheld | F |
Oft with thy Bosom bare art found | F |
Pleading for him the Youth who sinks to Ground | F |
See Mercy see with pure and loaded Hands | G |
Before thy Shrine my Country's Genius stands | G |
And decks thy Altar still tho' pierc'd with many a Wound | F |

When he whom ev'n our Joys provoke | H |
The Fiend of Nature join'd his Yoke | H |
And rush'd in Wrath to make our Isle his Prey | I |
Thy Form from out thy sweet Abode | F |
O'ertook Him on his blasted Road | F |
And stop'd his Wheels and look'd his Rage away | I |
I see recoil his sable Steeds | J |
That bore Him swift to Salvage Deeds | J |
Thy tender melting Eyes they own | K |
O Maid for all thy Love to Britain shown | K |
Where Justice bars her Iron Tow'r | L |
To Thee we build a roseate Bow'r | L |
Thou Thou shalt rule our Queen and share our Monarch's Throne | K |
