The Seasons Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCDEFF G

The year hath first his jocund springA
Wherein the leaves to birds' sweet carollingA
Dance with the wind then sees the summer's dayB
Perfect the embryon blossom of each sprayB
Next cometh autumn when the thresh d sheafC
Loseth his grain and every tree his leafC
Lastly cold winter's rage with many a stormD
Threats the proud pines which Ida's top adornE
And makes the sap leave succourless the shootF
Shrinking to comfort his decaying rootF

From Britannia's PastoralsG
