The Rose Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCDEFEFGG

A Rose as fair as ever saw the NorthA
Grew in a little garden all aloneB
A sweeter flower did Nature ne'er put forthA
Nor fairer garden yet was never knownB
The maidens danced about it morn and noonC
And learn egrave d bards of it their ditties madeD
The nimble fairies by the pale faced moonC
Water'd the root and kiss'd her pretty shadeD
But well a day the gardener careless grewE
The maids and fairies both were kept awayF
And in a drought the caterpillars threwE
Themselves upon the bud and every sprayF
God shield the stock If heaven send no suppliesG
The fairest blossom of the garden diesG
