Memory Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABBC DEDEFF GHGHII

So shuts the marigold her leavesA
At the departure of the sunB
So from the honeysuckle sheavesA
The bee goes when the day is doneB
So sits the turtle when she is but oneB
And so all woe as I since she is goneC
-
To some few birds kind Nature hathD
Made all the summer as one dayE
Which once enjoy'd cold winter's wrathD
As night they sleeping pass awayE
Those happy creatures are that know not yetF
The pain to be deprived or to forgetF
-
I oft have heard men say there beG
Some that with confidence professH
The helpful Art of MemoryG
But could they teach ForgetfulnessH
I'd learn and try what further art could doI
To make me love her and forget her tooI
