The Land Of Dreams Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABB CCDD EEFG CCHH IJKK

Awake awake my little BoyA
Thou wast thy Mother's only joyA
Why dost thou weep in thy gentle sleepB
Awake thy Father does thee keepB
-
O what land is the Land of DreamsC
What are its mountains and what are its streamsC
O Father I saw my Mother thereD
Among the lillies by waters fairD
-
Among the lambs clothed in whiteE
She walked with her Thomas in sweet delightE
I wept for joy like a dove I mournF
O when shall I return againG
-
Dear child I also by pleasant streamsC
Have wandered all night in the Land of DreamsC
But though calm and warm the waters wideH
I could not get to the other sideH
-
Father O Father what do we hereI
In this land of unbelief and fearJ
The Land of Dreams is better farK
Above the light of the Morning StarK
