The Crystal Cabinet Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEFE GHIH JKLK MNON PQCQ ARSR

The Maiden caught me in the wildA
Where I was dancing merrilyB
She put me into her CabinetC
And lock'd me up with a golden keyB
-
This cabinet is form'd of goldD
And pearl and crystal shining brightE
And within it opens into a worldF
And a little lovely moony nightE
-
Another England there I sawG
Another London with its TowerH
Another Thames and other hillsI
And another pleasant Surrey bowerH
-
Another Maiden like herselfJ
Translucent lovely shining clearK
Threefold each in the other clos'dL
O what a pleasant trembling fearK
-
O what a smile a threefold smileM
Fill'd me that like a flame I burn'dN
I bent to kiss the lovely MaidO
And found a threefold kiss return'dN
-
I strove to seize the inmost formP
With ardor fierce and hands of flameQ
But burst the Crystal CabinetC
And like a weeping Babe becameQ
-
A weeping Babe upon the wildA
And weeping Woman pale reclin'dR
And in the outward air againS
I fill'd with woes the passing windR
-
