Life And Death Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBACDCDCD

This world is driven by two contending powersA
Love that coerceth Heaven to dwell with dustB
And that dire pledge of Hell's self perjured LustB
And as we list must Heaven and Hell be oursA
Not light the election runs lo each devoursA
That savour set in each while equal gustB
Each uses yet our choice support we mustB
Blest wine or this rejected sweat that soursA
Love oft through Hell that seems acclaims what HeavenC
But Lust through seeming Heaven with easy breathD
Slides on to Hell how soon how richly givenC
If Love to heavenly state so quickenethD
While Lust must e'er in cheating Hell be shrivenC
They sponsor what these powers but Life and DeathD
