Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCDD DDEEFFDD GGGGGGDD HHDDDDII JJKKGGEEDD

Ov all the birds upon the wingA
Between the zunny showers o' springA
Vor all the lark a swingen highB
Mid zing below a cloudless skyB
An' sparrows clust'ren roun' the boughC
Mid chatter to the men at ploughC
The blackbird whisslen in amongD
The boughs do zing the gayest zongD
-
Vor we do hear the blackbird zingD
His sweetest ditties in the springD
When nippen win's noo mwore do blowE
Vrom northern skies wi' sleet or snowE
But dreve light doust along betweenF
The leane zide hedges thick an' greenF
An' zoo the blackbird in amongD
The boughs do zing the gayest zongD
-
'Tis blithe wi' newly opened eyesG
To zee the mornen's ruddy skiesG
Or out a haulen frith or lopsG
Vrom new pleshed hedge or new velled copseG
To rest at noon in primrwose bedsG
Below the white barked woak trees' headsG
But there's noo time the whole day longD
Lik' evenen wi' the blackbird's zongD
-
Vor when my work is all a doneH
Avore the zetten o' the zunH
Then blushen Jeane do walk alongD
The hedge to meet me in the drongD
An' stay till all is dim an' darkD
Bezides the ashen tree's white barkD
An' all bezides the blackbird's shrillI
An' runnen evenen whissle's stillI
-
An' there in bwoyhood I did roveJ
Wi' pryen eyes along the droveJ
To vind the nest the blackbird meadeK
O' grass stalks in the high bough's sheadeK
Or climb aloft wi' clingen kneesG
Vor crows' aggs up in swayen treesG
While frightened blackbirds down belowE
Did chatter o' their little foeE
An' zoo there's noo pleace lik' the drongD
Where I do hear the blackbird's zongD
