To Her Whose Name Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBA CDDC EFFE GHHG IJJI KLLM NOON PGQP

To her whose nameA
With its sweet sibilant sound like sudden showersB
Splashing the grass and flowersB
Hath set my April heart aflameA
-
To her whose faceC
The flower and crown of all created thingsD
Dearer than even Spring'sD
Hath been to me a sacrament of graceC
-
Whose luminous mindE
Stored with all gladness of the earth and skyF
Hath lightened my sad eyeF
And made it wise in love which erst was blindE
-
Whose voice of pleasureG
Calling to joys as a blithe wedding bellH
When ringers ring it wellH
Hath tuned my soul to its own happy measureG
-
Whose blessed handI
With its white mystery of fingers fiveJ
Each one a soul aliveJ
Hath taught me truths no angels understandI
-
Whose arms withinK
Should she once clasp me to her very heartL
God knoweth we should not partL
But live for aye in Heaven's own bliss divineM
-
To her alasN
Who is so near yet standeth still so farO
Seeing the mortal barO
Betwixt us ever which we cannot passN
-
These lines I sendP
With my heart's tears to night beseeching herG
Of her dear love more dearQ
To be no less to me my sweetest soul and friendP
