The Pre-adamite World Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABBCBCDEDECC

Who shall declare the glory of the WorldA
The natural World before Man's form was seenB
Fair stainless planet through the heavens hurledA
And clothed in garments of immortal greenB
What depths of forest girt her What sereneB
Pastures were hers for cattle numberlessC
Owning no lord save her their guileless queenB
Dear Nature's self who ruled them but to blessC
If there was war in Heaven peace reigned on EarthD
Not by disease did the world's life grow tameE
But by the hand of God in drought or dearthD
Or sudden palsy when the lion cameE
Death who should fear him or his mercy sueC
Whose last pang was the first each creature knewC
