Love Is Master Still Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBACCA DEEDFFD AGGACCA

Since that it may not beA
The thing my soul desiresB
And that Love's tenderer firesB
Are doomed to loss and Time's sterilityA
Ours be it this one dayC
Flowers at Love's feet to layC
For Love is master still or be we bond or freeA
-
We may not quite be blestD
Time's treasure is too greatE
And ours too weak a fateE
And Joy burns low a sun flame in the WestD
Night comes the while we standF
Forlornly hand in handF
And then the tears begin the dreams that have no restD
-
Yet since it may not beA
And Love can not be wiseG
And in each other's eyesG
We still must seek Time's lost felicityA
Ours be it this last dayC
Flowers on Love's grave to layC
For Love is master still or be we bond or freeA
