Love After Sorrow Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CCCC DEFE GHGH IJKL MMMM MNMO MPMP

Behold this hour I love as in the glory of mornA
I too the accurs d one whom griefs pursueB
Like phantoms through a land of deaths forlornA
Have felt my heart leap up with courage newB
-
Behold I love The tragedy of hate's derisionC
Has like a storm cloud vanished and is doneC
High in its path my hope has burst its prisonC
And stands transfigured a resplendent sunC
-
Where are the ghosts of sorrow that beset my roadD
The foes that mocked the fools that fled from meE
Peace be their portion all who sought my bloodF
I care not for fear's bondage who am freeE
-
O days of youth renewed Love's voice a singing bird'sG
Thrills me to tears more sweet than laughters areH
His silence godlike speaks to me in wordsG
Dearer than minstrelsy in lands afarH
-
These halls e'erwhile of pride my sorrow's palacesI
Are decked for joy and with high pomps and showsJ
Proclaim his lordship of all life that isK
In passionate echoes of remembered vowsL
-
The gardens are grown thick once more with scent of flowersM
Moss roses by the wall sweet lavendersM
Larkspurs red lilies Who shall tell what dowersM
Of musks and mallows golden shall be hersM
-
Hers Whose Oh if a tongue should tell of dreams unwiseM
And love might blazon love to ears abroadN
How would I speak But let this word sufficeM
That to my lips one name leaps like a swordO
-
And that I live once more and love all sentient thingsM
The spirit of the Earth and the Sun's fireP
And the night's silence and hushed wanderingsM
And her who is the soul of my desireP
