Esther, A Sonnet Sequence: Xxx Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCDEFEFGG

Thus was my soul enfranchised But anonA
With courage fired to full fledged enterpriseB
And pushing still the vantage I had wonA
I sought communion with a world less wiseB
The living world I mixed with not a fewC
Shepherds and countrymen and village priestsD
Bagmen at inns and all the motley crewC
Which comes and goes on market days and feastsD
In old world hostelries of old world townsE
These gave a second schooling till the graceF
Of the summer ended on the upper downsE
And carrying still its glory on my faceF
I came to Lyons where these things befellG
The why and wherefore of it who shall tellG
