Esther, A Sonnet Sequence: Xxvii Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDEDFGFHIJ

At such a time indeed of youth's first mornA
There is a heaving of the soul in painB
A mighty labour as of joys unbornA
Which grieves it and disquiets it in vainB
The soul is scared at her own lack of peaceC
Her cradle song is mute and she has fledD
From her old life as to a wildernessE
She finds herself awake and without breadD
'Tis then the body her new counsellorF
Speaks in her ear and still with eloquenceG
Pleads for more action and his voice to herF
Is sweet with love and sadly she consentsH
There is a day of youth which needs must comeI
When each must learn his life and leave his homeJ
