Esther, A Sonnet Sequence: Xlviii Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDEDFGHGII

Suddenly then my strange companion criedA
Bring me the body '' In a moment moreB
She had thrown off her hat her veil untiedA
And motioning all the women to the doorB
While I sat speechless by who would have goneC
Undid her jacket and anon her dressD
With the jet buttons of it one by oneE
And stood but clothed the more in lovelinessD
A sight sublime a dream a miracleF
A little goddess from some luminous fieldG
Brought down unconscious on our Earth to dwellH
And in an age of innocence revealedG
Naked but not ashamed Nay wherefore shameI
And I ah who shall blame me who shall blameI
