Esther, A Sonnet Sequence: Lv Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDDDDDBDBDD

We stayed at Lyons three days only threeA
In Esther's world of wonder and renownB
She glorious star each night immortallyC
Playing her Manons to the listening townB
I glorious too but in Love's firmamentD
Watching her face by which alone I movedD
A shadow near her raptured and intentD
And seeking still the signs that I was lovedD
Thrice happy days Thrice blessed tragedyD
Her Des Grieux was I her lover lornB
Bound to her fortunes blest to live or dieD
And faithful ever though to faith forswornB
Waiting behind the scenes in that stage landD
To greet her exits and to squeeze her handD
