Esther, A Sonnet Sequence: Iv Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABBCBCDEDEFF

And thus it is The tale I have to tellA
Is such another He who reads shall findB
That which he brings to it of Heaven or HellA
For his best recompense where much is blindB
A jest book or a sermon or mere windB
Each as he may for life's least godly mirthC
Is mingled strangely here with fate unkindB
And this is a true story of the EarthC
The passionate heart of youth with its desiresD
Is not all noble and some baseness clingsE
For ever mixed with its eternal firesD
Else were it single among human thingsE
And all life's wisdom learns but this last planF
To jest at tears and weep Man's mirth and ManF
