Condemned Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCAABBA DAEADA

From Caiphas to Pilate I was sentA
Who judged with unwashed hands a crime to meB
Next came the sentence and the soldieryC
Claimed me their prey Without the people rentA
With weeping voices the loud firmamentA
And through the night from town to town passed weB
Mid shouts and drums and stones hurled heavilyB
By angry crowds on love and murder bentA
-
And last the gaol What stillness in these doorsD
The silent turnkeys their last bolts have shotA
And their steps die in the long corridorsE
I am alone My tears run fast and hotA
Dear Lord for Thy grief's sake I kiss these floorsD
Kneeling then turn to sleep dreams trouble notA
