A Woman-s Sonnets: Xii Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCDEFEFGG

'Tis ended truly truly as was bestA
Love is a little thing for one short dayB
You could not make it your life's only questA
Nor watch the poor corpse long in its decayB
Go forth dear thou hast much to do on earthC
In life's campaign there waits thee a great partD
Much to be won and conquered of more worthC
Than this poor victory of a woman's heartD
For me the daylight of my years is dimE
I seek not gladness yet shall find contentF
In such small duties as are learned of HimE
Who bore all sorrows till my youth is spentF
Yet come what may to me of weal or woeG
I love thee bless thee dear where'er thou goG
