A Woman-s Sonnets: Viii Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDEDEFGFGHH

I sue thee not for pity on my caseA
If I have sinned the judgment has begunB
My joy was but one day of all the daysC
And clouds have blotted it and hid the sunB
Thou wert so much to me But soon I knewD
How small a part could mine be in thy lifeE
That all a woman may endure or doD
Counts little to her hero in the strifeE
I do not blame thee who deserved no blameF
Thou hast so many worlds within thy kenG
I staked my all upon a losing gameF
Knowing the nature and the needs of menG
And knowing too how quickly pride is spentH
With open eyes to Love and Death I wentH
