A Woman-s Sonnets: V Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABACDEDEFGHGII| Whate'er the cost to me with this farewell | A |
| I shall not see thee speak to thee again | B |
| If some on Earth must feel the pangs of Hell | A |
| Mine only be it who have earned my pain | C |
| No matter if my life be blank and dead | D |
| Bankrupt of pleasure it is better so | E |
| Than risk dishonour on a once loved head | D |
| Than link all loved ones with my own sole woe | E |
| I have no claim to bring grief's shade on these | F |
| To mix their pure life's waters with my wine | G |
| To vex the dead dear dead in their new peace | H |
| With knowledge of my sin and great decline | G |
| For these I leave thee and though life be rent | I |
| With the rude fight think not I shall relent | I |
