A Woman-s Sonnets: V Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABACDEDEFGHGII

Whate'er the cost to me with this farewellA
I shall not see thee speak to thee againB
If some on Earth must feel the pangs of HellA
Mine only be it who have earned my painC
No matter if my life be blank and deadD
Bankrupt of pleasure it is better soE
Than risk dishonour on a once loved headD
Than link all loved ones with my own sole woeE
I have no claim to bring grief's shade on theseF
To mix their pure life's waters with my wineG
To vex the dead dear dead in their new peaceH
With knowledge of my sin and great declineG
For these I leave thee and though life be rentI
With the rude fight think not I shall relentI
