A Woman-s Sonnets: Ix Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCEFGFHII

The day draws nigh methinks when I could stayA
Calm in thy presence with no dream of illB
When having put all earthliness awayA
I could be near thee touching thee and stillB
Feel no mad throbbing at my foolish heartC
No sudden rising of unbidden tearsD
Could mark thee come and go to meet our partC
Without the gladness and without the fearsE
Have patience with me then for this short spaceF
I shall be wise but may not yet unmovedG
See a strange woman put into my placeF
And happy in thy love as I was lovedH
This were too much Ah let me not yet seeI
The love light in thine eyes and not for meI
