A New Pilgrimage: Sonnet Xxxiv Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABBCBDEFGFHH

O fool O false I have abandoned HeavenA
And sold my wealth for metal of base kindB
O frail disciple of a fair creed givenA
For human hope when all the world was blindB
What was my profit Freedom of the mindB
A little pleasure of the years some scarsC
Of lusty youth and some few thoughts enshrinedB
In worthier record of my manhood's yearsD
All else is loss and unredeemed distressE
The voiceful seasons uninvited comeF
And bring their tribute of new flowers and passG
Only the reason of the world is dumbF
Nor does God any more by word or signH
Speak to our rebel hearts of things divineH
