Conscious Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCD EFEFGHI

His fingers wake and flutter up the bedA
His eyes come open with a pull of willB
Helped by the yellow may flowers by his headA
A blind cord drawls across the window sillB
How smooth the floor of the ward is what a rugC
And who's that talking somewhere out of sightD
Why are they laughing What's inside that jugC
Nurse Doctor Yes all right all rightD
-
But sudden dusk bewilders all the airE
There seems no time to want a drink of waterF
Nurse looks so far away And everywhereE
Music and roses burnt through crimson slaughterF
Cold cold he's cold and yet so hotG
And there's no light to see the voices byH
No time to dream and ask he knows not whatI
