Roasting Corn Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABC DEFGH IHJK LMCBN

We chatter the smoke oozesA
The sweet aroma of a golden cornB
While it laid in the red glowing emberC
-
Until I heard a popping soundD
As if there's war Like rifle gunsE
Pop Pop PopF
Then I blow the ember stonesG
And ashes flewH
-
I picked it up with my bare handsI
Since there's no fork to pierce it throughH
It hurts since it was very very hotJ
Like how we strive on for a livingK
-
AnywaysL
I gotta eatM
The bitterC
And burnt cornB
Cause I have no choiceN

Poet's note: I wrote this poem when I was at the farm. While roasting corn, I came up with a realization about life.
