Under the lime treeA
On the heatherB
Where we had shared a place of restC
Still you may find thereD
Lovely togetherB
Flowers crushed and grass down pressedC
Beside the forest in the valeE
T ndarad iF
Sweetly sang the nightingaleE
-
I came to meet himG
At the greenH
There was my truelove come beforeI
Such was I greetedJ
Heaven's QueenH
That I am glad for evermoreI
Had he kisses A thousand someK
T ndarad iF
See how red my mouth's becomeK
-
There he had fashionedL
For luxuryA
A bed from every kind of flowerB
It sets to laughingM
DelightedlyE
Whoever comes upon that bowerB
By the roses well one mayN
T ndarad iF
Mark the spot my head once layN
-
If any knewO
He lay with meA
May God forbid for shame I'd dieF
What did he doO
May none but heA
Ever be sure of that and IF
And one extremely tiny birdP
T ndarad iF
Who will I think not say a wordP
